2007 Southern California Wildfire Hazard Awareness Mapping

(Jonny Bartlett) From October 20th through November 24th 2007 a total of twenty-three fires raged through southern California burning over 522,340 acres and causing millions of dollars in losses. These fires generated significant amounts of burned vegetation, debris, and denuded hillsides in areas surrounding small towns and major population centers. Threats from increased flooding and debris flow increased significantly in the post fire environment and emergency measures to protect human life and property were the top priority for state and local emergency management officials, flood planners, and public works officials. Tjhis webpage is the nexus for maps, data, and information related to the firestorms of late 2007. | user: femauser, password: f3m@u3er
